A Healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte

Does fall scream pumpkin spice to you? Do you crave that delicious latte all season long but avoid it because you are trying to cut back on processed sugars and foods?

Do you cave in and buy those creamers like "Delight" or "Silk" that are full of processed sugars and carry a long list of unknown ingredients even though you know it doesn't align with your health goals?

Well my friend, today is your lucky day! I promised a pumpkin spice recipe for my pumpkin spice folks, and here it is! A yummy pumpkin spiced latte made with whole food ingredients that provides beneficial nutrients while still satisfying that ever-so-potent fall craving.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Coffee

  • 2 tbsps Pureed Pumpkin

  • 1 1/2 tbsps Maple Syrup

  • 1/2 tsp Pumpkin Spice Seasoning

  • 3/4 cup Unsweetened milk of choice

  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

  • Cinnamon (optional)

Directions:

  1. Brew your coffee and set aside.

  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, stir the pumpkin, maple syrup and pumpkin spice until combined. Slowly whisk in milk of choice. Bring mixture to a low simmer, stirring occasionally and remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract.

  3. Transfer milk mixture to a blender and pulse several times until foamy and frothy. (You can also use a hand-held immersion blender instead.)

  4. Add milk mixture to your hot coffee. You may want to use a spoon to gently hold back the frothy top layer while pouring. Top your latte with this remaining froth and sprinkle with additional pumpkin spice or cinnamon. Enjoy!

Xo,

Renée
